The classic of French literature Theophile Gautier (1811-1972) twice visited Russia. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, he was in the winter of 1858/59. In the summer of 1862, the writer sailed on a steamer from Tver to Nizhny Novgorod. This book is a poetic and colorful exposition of Gauthier's impressions of his travels to Russia. The book was published in 1988 in two parts and 18 chapters, each of which is preceded by the artist's drawing. The format of the publication is 21, 5 x 25 cm. |
